Many stylists are already taking advantage of the power that social media has by connecting with clients and showcasing their work, but is there more they could be doing to boost their client base and their sales?
Not only is National Salon Resources full of beauty industry experts, but we also have people that are specialized in other fields that are important to our industry, including social media. Here are our favorite tips and tricks for giving your social accounts the extra bump you’re looking for:
Hashtags can be helpful for finding new clientele, as long as you use the right ones. It’s important to do your research.
- Check into the ones you’ve been using. What else is posted there? Can you find any of your posts?
- Make sure that the other content is relevant to yours. People that are looking at or following that tag might not be your ideal audience.
One of the easiest ways to get some good exposure is by tagging your clients, brands, and distributors.
- By tagging your clients, you are able to reach their friends and family on social media! This way, you can showcase your beautiful work and share it with potential clients too. (Be sure to only tag them in photos of themselves, and never post without their permission.)
Actively Engage with Your Clients
It’s important to be active on your social media accounts, especially when it comes to your clients. They want to be seen and heard by you. Not all comments need a full response, but it’s a good practice to like or react to all comments. Simply liking their comment lets them know that you saw it and are actively reading their engagements. We all know about the good, the bad, and the ugly when it comes to social media, and it’s necessary to address all of it.
By diving into some new social media skills, you open up a world of possibilities to better connect with new and future clients.
